Unfortunately felt like a waste of money
The concert, however, was quite a big fan of this band and was very excited for this show, left MUCH to be desired. The venue itself was good. We overheard the employees telling each other to shut it down because it would be ending soon, so, we went back to our seats. Then Dan, the lead singer, tells the crowd that he is not feeling well and his voice wasn't going to hold out, so they'd try a few more songs, but we (the crowd) would have to help sing along for him. The band came on and played the first song, which sounded good. However, from the many conversations I've heard, the consensus is that given the circumstances, they music was still okay.... but most people are QUITE UPSET. I will say that the guitarist and drummer really stepped it up and filled in on lyrics quite a bit. There have also been many posts about them singing perfectly two nights before (Austin) and the immediate night after (New Orleans) this show, which adds insult to injury for our Woodlands/Houston crowd. We went down to get beer during the third song and most of the drink carts had already closed. This was a sold out show and I feel like other than just minimally "fulfilling their contract" for this show, they should have cancelled or rescheduled. So, we went back to our seats and they band proceeded to play about 12 songs total - all but maybe 1 or 2 that were popular and on the radio, so the crowd could sing the song. Dan was obviously feeling bad about it, as well. This was a really inconsiderate and rude move on the band's part. The lead singer not singing but maybe 20-25% of the time.
